Driving order
The Freezers: Big Baby David (BBD), Shelfy, Dalton Feely, Dan Rourke.
The Story: Jake Storiale, Jolly Olive, Zo Demalia, Lucas D’Aversa
Spoilers start here.
First Inning
Big Baby David (BBD) would lead off the first drive with a nice shot coming to 6 feet from the home base hole. Two drives later, Dalton Feely would hit a grounder that hit the wall but then was touched by Lucas D’Aversa who thought he was playing Floorball, resulting in a place putt. The duck was placed 7 feet from home base. Dan Rourke would then give the ball a light tap that landed right in Jolly Olive’s glove to record the first out. BBD would then come back and hit a grounder towards left. The ball was hopping slowly but it had the right hop to just find its way on to the green. This is the first we have seen this in the Golfball series. After two additional drives by Shelfy and Dalton Feely that were blocked by Jake Storiale and Jolly Olive respectively, Dan Rourke’s drive sliced right and did not pick up any air and hit the fence out of play. In his redo, the ball would go in the same direction but this one did pick up some air grazing the fence and was blocked by Jake. Freezers get 3 ducks to work with.
In putting, BBD would attempt to sink the placed putt 7 feet from third base and was able to get it in. Shelfy attempted BBD’s first duck, making a 6 foot shot to the home base hole. Dalton Feely had to do a 12 1/2 foot putt on second base. This is a fairly difficult one. His putt veered wide to the right and came up short. Dan Rourke’s attempt on the two-putt also veered right and it was still short. In Golfball, the holes are square like if this was a Minecraft game and making the diagonal shots can be tricky, especially where it comes to the placement of the “backboard”, a one foot piece of wood that is used to help keep the ball in the hole. Freezers end the inning with 2 points.
Leading off for The Story, Jake Storiale hit a beautiful shot to high center, as it was rolling on the green, it was bobbling slowly and actually went into third base but then bobbled out stopping about 9 inches to the hole. This is the closest drives we have seen so far. Jolly Olive would then hit one to high center and on the rebound, Dalton Feely attempted the catch and couldn’t hold on. This resulted in a place put that was placed 7 feet from home base. Zo Demalia, normally from We Got Ice hits to low center, the ball would ricochet off of a shrub pot and land in a nice spot 5 feet from first base. Lucas D’Aversa would hit one to the right and get caught by Dalton Feely knocking him down on his bum to record the first out. Jake would achieve a 4th duck by hitting low towards center but then touched by Dan after the bounce. A second place putt for The Story. This time, it was placed 7 feet from second base. A Jolly Olive drive would then get caught by BBD to end the inning.
The Story has four ducks but only needs three to win the inning. Zo would take the first putt, 7 feet on home base and make it. Lucas would then attempt a 4’ 7” straight shot on second base, but he putt too lightly, coming up short. Jake would then take the putt another foot and a half to get the point. Jolly Olive then took Jakes first drive that was inches from third base, an easy gimme putt. The Story wins the first inning.
The Freezers: Balls driven: 8 (+1 redo) ~ Ducks puttable: 3 ~ Ducks earned: 2
The Story: Balls driven: 6 ~ Ducks puttable: 4 ~ Ducks earned: 3
Inning result: The Story

Second Inning
The second inning will start with The Story. Zo Demalia hits one to high right. This ball was successfully booped by Lucas D’Aversa and stopped about 7 feet to first base. Jake Storiale and Jolly Olive would put two more ducks on the green, also near first base. This is going to be a huge challenge for The Story as you cannot put two balls consecutively into the same base and as all of the ducks are in line for first base, The Story will need to find a way to make this work.
Zo would putt the ball that was driven by Jolly Olive. The 4 foot attempt on first base veered to the left and overshot the hole. Lucas, from about one foot away, gets the point on the two putt. This is going to be an issue for The Story as they had to give up their two putt on what would have been the easiest of the putts to attempt. Now with no lifeline and no option to go to first base, Jake attempts to take Zo’s first duck ball and send it to home base. The 10 foot putt attempt veered to the left and it was missed. With the two putt already used, The Story only gets one point in this inning.
Freezers need one to tie and two to win. First up is BBD who hits one to high center, skips over the river and ends up about 5 feet from home base. BBD’s second drive goes high left and then the ball pachinkos, first by a ba boop off of Dan Rourke and then off the tree to reach about 7 and a half feet from third base. The Freezers will go to the green with two ducks.
In putting, BBD would sink his first duck 5 and a half feet from home base and Shelfy would sink in BBD’s second duck from 7 and a half feet to third base. The Freezers wins a point and we are tied.
The Freezers: Balls driven: 8 ~ Ducks puttable: 2 ~ Ducks earned: 2
The Story: Balls driven: 8 ~ Ducks puttable: 3 ~ Ducks earned: 1

Third Inning
With the game tied at 1, the third inning would begin with The Freezers’ Dalton Feely hitting to the high center of the back wall with a nice clean catch made by Jake Storiale to record the first out. Dan Rourke would hit to the wall, high and to the right to get the first duck just over 4 feet from first base. BBD’s drive was juggled and dropped by Zo Demalia for a place putt put 7 feet from third base. Shelfy would hit the ceiling bounding to low center and then rolls on the green to the right fence shelf stopping about 3 feet from home base. The duck streak was broken when Dalton Feely lined one to the center wall only to be caught by Jolly Olive. The Freezers have 3 ducks.
Dan, BBD and Shelfy all successfully make their putts without having to use the two putt. The Story are now chasing four points in order to win the match.
In the bottom of the third, Jolly Olive sends one low center that hits the shrub and ends up three feet from first base but on a tricky diagonal angle to the hole. Ducks were also made by Jake going into the bunker about 4 feet from second base, Jolly Olive to 4 feet from first base, Zo to about 2 feet from first base and Jake again hitting high center with the ball going to 2 feet from home base. 5 ducks for The Story.
In the putting round, Jolly Olive, playing Zo’s duck, would successfully sink the 2 foot putt. Zo would come up to take Jake’s second duck 2 feet from home base. Despite commentators Jimmy and Jack Doyle agreeing that the putt should be a gimme, Zo, after respositioning his body a body a couple of times tapped it too light and veered slightly to the right. This was a huge mistake for The Story as they really needed that two putt for one of the other ducks. Lucas would finish the job and The Story will get a second point. They still need two more.
Despite closer ducks available, Jake decides to work the bunker ball. While the nearest hole is first at 10 feet 10 inches away it can’t be played because of Jolly Olive’s putt going into that base (there must be two sinks on other bases before a base can be reused). Jake looked towards third base which was about 13 feet away. From where the ball is in the bunker and how the surface is laid out, I can understand why he was looking at going to third instead of first. Going to third would give the ball some time to roll in the sand before coming up to the green where going towards first would likely launch the ball in the air sending it out of control (which he can’t do anyway because of the rule). While the ball had the right exit out of the bunker and a good velocity, Jake nudged it a little too far to the left and missed the hole. The Freezers win the inning and the match.
In this case, Jake really had no other choice. Jolly’s first drive was close to first, but first was already occupied and his second drive also would have worked to first base but not much anywhere else.

If I was to choose a star of the game, it definitely would have been BBD. All 5 of his drives became ducks, 2 blocks, 2 catches and 100% putting.
The Freezers move to 1-1 and The Story goes to 0-2.
Line Score
The Freezers 2(7) ~ The Story 1(6).
