EDUCATION
I will be honest here. I have graduated from high school later in life (with a GED) and I was never able to attend college due to a very tragic upbringing. I feel honored that I have been able to achieve so much without the advantage of a college education. While a college education helps, especially those who are really young and for those like myself who seek employment outside the USA, I feel that nothing beats real life experience. I feel that my experiences in the past 25 years, even though they are in specific disciplines can be applied to many different disciplines.
During this time of long term unemployment, I am a full time student at Rio Salado College working towards an Associates of Arts degree with a Language Certificate and a concentration on the Japanese language with aspirations of advancing to a 4-year university to major in either humanities or East Asian studies.
INTERESTS and HOBBIES
- Japanese popular culture and learning the Japanese language. (Note: I am not yet fluent in the Japanese language, but I have a desire to learn.)
- Social Network Services in both the Western and Japanese markets.
- The radio broadcasting industry in both the Western and Japanese markets as well as Intenet Radio.
- Amateur Radio Operator: K7REC - Advanced class.
SITUATION DESIRED
I am seeking employment or contact work with a progressive, forward thinking corporation or organization that prides themselves on diversity.
I am seeking an administrative, planning or support position in the telecommunications, cable/MVPD, internet, social networking, broadcasting, media, recording industry or in the travel industry.
I will also consider an opportunity with a non-profit organization in the fields of media justice, GLBT or transsexual rights.
A position with occasional travel to Japan is most desired.
After September, 2012, I will be located in Mardela Springs, MD, approximately 3 hours from Washington DC and 3 hours from Philadelphia. It is my desire to work from my home office unless significant relocation is available.
I am a dual citizen of both the United States and the Republic of Ireland. I am able to be employed in the European Economic Area without the requirement of obtaining work permits or specific visas.
Thank you for your consideration!
