AT&T's way of saying "thanks" for GLAAD's endorsement?
Noticed this today when reading a story about "Third gender" student housing on the University of Georgia's student newspaper. So, AT&T gives 5-figures to GLAAD to buy their support and then dumps a ton more money indirectly into Chik-Fil-A and their sponsorship of a college football game. Chik-Fil-A is a corporation under evangelical leadership has a reputation of supporting anti GLBT rights organizations.
I sure hope this is more egg on the face of GLAAD, a useless organization under its current structure.
I hope those useless comments filed with the FCC were worth it, GLAAD.
I am still opposed to the current structure of GLAAD until they invite more transsexual and transgender persons to serve on their board of directors without a "generous donation" requirement knowing the current oppression of a majority of trans people where it comes to employment opportunities and the lack of state and federal laws that protect trans people in the workplace. This lack of financial ability makes trans people less likely to be represented in the leadership of the organization yet the organization claims to represent the interest of "transgender" people.
I still oppose the takeover of T-Mobile by AT&T for many reasons totally unrelated to the GLAAD endorsement as a result of AT&T's payoff.
