Over the next year or two, you are going to hear more about the OSDA as the association starts to grow nationwide, especially in light of the new OSDA league that is under development here in Arizona.
Please take an hour out of your time at the con on Thursday to go to the Fuji room from 2-3PM for a workshop on OSDA. It is definitely a different kind of derby with different rules. I think you will find it very interesting.
Hosting will be Thunder Rose, OSDA banked track director and Mos Deathy, OSDA flat track director.

Well Arizona, the shoe or should I say, the skate has finally dropped
and now we are seeing the reality of what has happened. I do see this
in a way as something positive. I see this as just the seed that both
leagues need to re-think about their game and look at the future of the
sport here in the Grand Canyon State. With Rollercon coming up not too
long from now, I think this will be a great time for both leagues to
get some new ideas and inspirations from both the on-skates and
off-skates workshops and bring some of that knowledge back to Arizona.
We need to cultivate our talent and get them ready for an interleague
level of play which as many of you who have attended or skated in
interleague bouts know, is one step up from regular home team play.
The Women's Flat Track Derby Association today has released their second quarter rankings of over 50 WFTDA member travel teams.
The AZDR has received results from Tucson Roller Derby. First in what was originally predicted as a more even match, the VICE Squad buried the Copper Queens by a 90-point margin. The final score was 121-31. Then in a more predictable outcome, the FTW trampled over the struggling Iron Curtain, also with a 90-point margin. This time, it was 110-20.
As most of you know, I wear the hat of the
Arizona Derby Report. I also wear a different hat as that of an
executive on the Valley Fever Roller Demons (VFRD) and as an advisor to
the Old School Derby Association (OSDA).
